Blood blister on lips
Laser treatment for facial blemishes
Venous lake is the medical term for what is more commonly referred to as a blood blister or permanent spot on the lips.
Many patients have this condition and don’t know where to turn for help. It is not considered to be medically harmful, which means that there is unlikely to be help through the NHS.
However, if you’re looking to get rid of a venous lake, the good news is that the latest ND Yag laser treatment is now available at our London skin clinics.
This treatment can very precisely target the blood blister and destroy it from within, so that it disappears from sight.

Before and After Laser Venous Lake Treatment
Laser Treatment for Venous Lake
The majority of venous lake blood blisters can usually be treated with laser.
The laser heats the affected area in order to destroy the vessels/veins that are causing the blood to pool on the lip. The venous lake will shrink and disappear so that the visible spot disappears. Blood will simply flow through through deeper, healthier vessels and veins.
The treatment is not painful as we use a numbing cream prior to treatment. Local anaesthetic is available if required, but that is not usually the case.
It may take up to 3 sessions for optimum results, depending on the individual case.
