Vein Website Visits Soar as Temperature Rises

Visits to The London Vein Centre website have soared over recent weeks and the company is attributing the surge of interest in its procedures to the weather.

The website had over 20% more visits in June compared to May and the trend is set to continue for July in line with the ongoing UK heatwave.

The effects of hot weather on varicose and thread veins make the warm temperatures doubly uncomfortable for those who suffer from varicose or thread veins.

Firstly, there is the embarrassment associated with baring the legs. As Britain has now become accustomed to temperatures over 25°C, many more of us are wearing shorts or dresses/skirts that expose the legs. If you have thread veins or varicose veins it is a dilemma. Do you bare them and face people noticing; or do you continue to wear trousers?

Secondly, the hot weather tends to make vein problems worse, as veins will naturally dilate in response to the heat. If the veins are damaged, most especially in the case of varicose veins; the blood pooling and swelling the veins is likely to increase, worsening symptoms. On hot days, those with varicose veins can feel the legs are especially heavy, achy or painful.  Cramping or throbbing sensations, itchiness or general discomfort tend to be even higher in the heat.

The London Vein Centre believe that the current hot weather is causing many more people to seek a solution to their thread veins and varicose veins, in order to remove the embarrassment caused by their appearance as well as resolving the physical discomfort.

There are now treatments available which can deal with thread veins and even varicose veins quickly.

The London Vein Centre offers thread vein treatment for the legs from £300 using laser or microsclerotherapy injections.

Varicose vein treatment starts at £1,650 for EVLA or £1,895 for new ClariVein.
