Thread vein expert

When it comes to thread veins, My Weekly sought Dr Ross Perry for his medical expert advice on how to get rid of them for good.

Dr Perry explained:

“The veins provide no real function, so it is perfectly safe to remove them.”

Sclerotherapy injections for leg thread veins

Ross told My Weekly that sclerotherapy injections are considered to be the best way of handling blue/purple /red coloured leg thread veins.

Sclerotherapy is the injection of a glucose-like substance that causes the inside of the veins to become sticky, causes the vein to collapse and seal itself off. The vein is slowly broken down and removed by the body.”

Laser treatment for facial thread veins

Lasers work well for facial veins and cause the veins to collapse and seal up via the light energy. Treatments are well-tolerated with a small amount of redness for a day or so after, and are normally done every 3-4 months for 3-4 sessions”.

Both treatments are available at Cosmedics’ London Vein Treatment Centres, where a range of services are available for tackling common cosmetic vascular problems.
